"AktiVVo" is the first DRT from the Augsburg transport and fare association (AVV). To implement this pilot project, the AVV is relying on Demand-Responsive Transport technology from Padam Mobility to make its public transport services more attractive and easier to access.

The service will initially operate in the regions of Holzwinkel and Altenmünster, Roth- and Zusamtal, and will transport passengers within the defined service area to or from one of 360 stops. The stops have been chosen to ensure that passengers have to travel the shortest possible distance, guaranteeing easy access to the service for all. Passengers in wheelchairs or travelling with small children can also be comfortably transported by the "AktiVVO" - both vehicles used have space for a wheelchair or baby carriage.

Padam Mobility is providing the digital platform for this on-demand mobility solution, which offers residents and visitors to the region an improved and easily accessible public transport service. Users and passengers will have access to a mobile app that allows them to book rides and track the vehicle's progress in real time. Those who do not wish to use an app can book via a call center.

The service takes users to their desired destination as quickly as possible. Padam Mobility 's algorithm calculates ride requests in advance and in real time, so that people with similar destinations can be grouped together in the same vehicle. A dedicated application tells drivers which stops need to be served and which can be ignored. Unlike regular buses, this saves empty kilometers and considerably shortens ride.

The entire service area is divided into four different fare zones, the fare depending on the number of zones crossed during a ride, tickets can be purchased directly from the driver before departure. Passengers with a D-Ticket or other valid timetable card do not have to pay a supplement.
