"Thanks to on-demand transport services (DRT and Paratransit), new ways of managing and guaranteeing access to a more inclusive and sustainable mobility can be put in place. Means that allow a gradual transition to low-carbon travel, reduce the impact of the private car, improve access to employment and service areas."

Montenbus is a rural alpine DRT service deployed in the Community of Communes of the Mont Blanc region. It currently serves 10 communes.
The Community of Communes of the Mont Blanc region, which until then had only regional fixed lines, has set up this service to compensate for the lack of existing mobility solutions on its territory. The Montenbus service aims to complete and not to compete for the pre-existing fixed lines.
The service is based on a free floating configuration. Taking into account the specific time required for rides in mountainous areas is an essential parameter to guarantee the smooth operation of the service. In addition, the service's timetable varies according to the season in order to adapt to tourist flows during the winter season.
