At the beginning of 2022, the city bus network of Pfaffenhofen has been expanded with three on-demand lines. From now on, routes 4, 5 and 6 are on-demand lines. Users are able to book rides on these lines via the mobile app, the booking website or the call centre up to 30 minutes before departure time.

On weekends, starting at noon on Saturday, lines 1 to 3 are also transformed into DRT lines. This is a win-win situation for both the operator and the users, as it avoids empty rides, but also skips stops where no one wants to get on or off, thus considerably reducing the overall ride time.

Since 2018, the city has been offering free rides on the city bus, which should encourage the approximately 26,000 residents to abandon their private cars to travel to the city centre or train station. In order to make the transport offer even more user-oriented and enable more efficient operational management, Pfaffenhofen decided to call on Padam Mobility and its smart Demand-Responsive Transport solution.

Today, three vehicles are in service and three additional vehicles will soon be deployed to meet user requests. The rides can be booked from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekends.
