In October 2022, the second joint on-demand service of Padam Mobility and the Ingolstadt Transport Associationurban area (VGI) was launched in Scheyern. The service area covers not only the municipality of Scheyern, but also the neighboring towns of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, Gerolsbach, Ilmmünster, Hettenshausen and Reichertshausen.
Users have the option of book the service via the VGI-Flexi app, via the website or via phone. On the app, they simply select the relevant area via the menu bar to receive all relevant information about service models and rates for booking. There is no need to download another application. The transport association, on the other hand, has an overview of all services offered via the management interface, which makes it much easier to administer and control the operators.
bookings must be made at least one hour before the desired departure, but can also be made 30 days in advance. The VGI-Flexi service area includes 85 stops, which are marked with a dedicated VGI-Flexi sign. Passengers can be picked up or dropped off at these points.
The vehicle does not follow a predefined itinerary but collects other passengers with a similar destination along the way according to the algorithm's calculations. In this way, transportation requests are grouped intelligently and resources are saved.
The VGI-Flexi minibus operates Monday to Thursday from 5:30 am to 9 pm, Friday from 5:30 am to 2 am, Saturday from 8 am to 2 am and Sunday from 8 am to midnight. All VGI tickets and the Bayern-Ticket can be used for ride on the bus on demand. Those who wish to buy a ticket on the bus can pay directly to the driver. For all passengers over the age of 14, a ride costs €1.50, regardless of the distance traveled.
