Regional mobility platform

In order to stay as close as possible to the mobility needs of the Paris Region inhabitants and adapt to the diversity of the region’s territories, Île-de-France Mobilités (Paris Region Public Transport Authority) has begun developing Demand-Responsive Transport (DRT) in the outer suburbs. The mobility solution was deemed to be ideal for providing tailor-made solutions to the inhabitants of less densely populated areas in addition to regular modes of transport such as bus or train.

Due to the size of its territory (12,000 km2) and the multitude of use cases to be addressed, Île-de-France Mobilités entrusted Padam Mobility, Setec (for the engineering) and Webhelp (for the call centre operation) for the implementation of a single DRT booking and management platform under the TAD IDFM brand name. The objective: to integrate all use cases and potential transit operators into the world’s most flexible and largest public DRT network.

A gradual extension of the solution to the whole Paris region is under way, over a period of 4 years. From 2022, the regional platform will be able to handle up to 60,000 bookings per month, spread over 40 networks and managed by around ten different transit operators.

The creation of this new Demand-Responsive Transport service provides a tailor-made response, with the guarantee of the same quality of service, for many inhabitants of the outer suburbs who have little or no access to mobility.
